FAQs & Policies

frequently asked questions

Do I have to be a member to visit Well House?

No, you don’t have to be a member! We have memberships, packages, and drop in rates for our services. Members do receive special perks like discounts on retail, additional services, and member only events/special offers.

Are you by appointment only?

While appointments are encouraged so we can have your suite ready upon arrival, you are welcome to stop by without an appointment! We cannot guarantee that all our rooms won’t be occupied but we are happy to squeeze you in if we can! You can always call or text us to check before you stop by.

Who shouldn’t sweat?

Contraindications include: Current fever, infection or injury, cardiovascular conditions, pregnant or breastfeeding, a pacemaker, history of dizziness, fainting spells, heat sensitivity, narcolepsy or seizures, and bleeding disorders

We always recommend checking with your primary physician if you have any questions or concerns regarding sauna use.

What is the sauna temperature?

We use full spectrum infrared saunas with the lowest levels of EMFs/ELFs. The ideal temperature for best therapeutic benefits are 110-150 degrees fahrenheit and our saunas are set to that range. These saunas heat your body from your core vs just the air around you. You can receive even more benefits at lower infrared heat compared to a traditional dry sauna at 175+ degree temps!

How many times a day can I use the sauna and cold plunge?

All you need is one sauna and/or cold plunge session per day, so we have a one session per day limit for health and safety reasons.

How long will my session last?

Sauna sessions last up to 40 minutes but you get 50 minutes in your private suite so you can cool down. Salt sessions are 30 minutes but you get 40 minutes in your private suite. HaloSauna sessions are 50 minutes. Our contrast therapy session is a full hour.

Do you provide towels?

Of course we do! We provide cotton towels and we even provide chilled eucalyptus towels to cool you down post sauna too.

Do you have a shower?

Per health department rules and regulations, we do have a shower dedicated for contrast therapy sessions so you can rinse off between the sauna and plunge. If there is no contrast therapy session in progress after your appointment, we can accommodate a shower but there is no guarantee it will be available. It is also best to wait to shower 30-60 minutes after your sauna session to allow full detox and for your pores to close completely. We chilled towels to towel off with so you can still have a full detox.

Can I bring a friend?

Of course! Our oversized saunas can accommodate more than one person so you are more than welcome to bring a friend. There is a guest fee to bring a friend but members can add another person to their sauna session for a discounted rate.

What do I wear to sauna and cold plunge?

Our dress code is a bathing suit, any time you are using the cold plunge. If you are only using the sauna, the choice is yours! The suites are private so you can feel comfortable in whatever you decide is best. Some people wear workout gear, loose fitting clothing, or a bathing suit. Natural fibers (like cotton) are best to wear in the heat. All our towels are 100% cotton and we do have extra if you’d like to wrap up in them.

Can I adjust my membership?

Yes, please email hello@wellhousenv.com or text us at 775-558-4410 for written notice to place you membership on hold (can place on hold for up to 2 months free of charge), to cancel, or to adjust your membership tier (at least 15 day notice is required for any changes to be made in the system and a 3 month minimum commitment is required for memberships). Please see cancellation policies and membership agreements below for more details.

Are children welcome?

We welcome children, accompanied by a parent or guardianm, for halotherapy sessions at low temp (up to 90 degrees) or with no heat. We can accommodate children 13 years old and up for infrared sauna, accompanied by a parent or guardian. We will adjust the temperature and timing of the session to make sure it is well tolerated. We always recommend checking with your child’s primary physician if you have any questions or concerns regarding sauna/plunge use.
